What’s happening at the Southern Centre?
The Southern Centre will be opening on the weekends from the 25th May 2013: Saturday's between 10am - 2pm. Sunday's between 11:30am - 3pm.
Bookings are essential and can be made now by calling 03 9418999 or by emailing the Southern Centre southern.centre@ccc.govt.nz.
We are pleased to announce that the Southern Centre Sensory Room is now open at Pioneer Recreation and Sport. Bookings available by phoning (03) 941 8999.
Customers are required to make payment at the Pioneer Recreation and Sport Customer Service Desk prior to the commencement of their session in the Sensory Room, please present receipt as confirmation of booking.
The Southern Centre Sensory Room is located on the first floor at Pioneer Recreation and Sport Centre, follow the signs up the stairs and to the left, a lift is also available.

The Southern Centre Multi-Sensory Experience
Relax and enjoy a sensory world of light, sound, scent and touch. We use a wide range of sensory effects that creates a stimulating but restful experience.

Multi sensory rooms are recognised as providing a space for participants to have fun, interact, explore and absorb different experiences.
The equipment is fun for all people of all abilities, but can be particularly rewarding for children, youth, people with disabilities and adults who are young at heart!
